Chargers Draft Corey Liuget in the First Round

The Chargers addressed a dire need in the first round of the draft, by snagging Illinois defensive tackle Corey Liguet with the 18th pick of the first round.  Liguet is expected to facilitate all roles on the defensive line, and add a physical presence to the Chargers front seven.

Various scouting reports say Liguet is "athletic, strong and has quick feet, and that he can be a disruptive force."

Liguet is not a guy I had on the Chargers radar, but he seems like a good fit.  He is strong against the run, and will take up lots of space on the line.  He adds depth to a line that includes veterans Luis Castillo and Antonio Garay.

When i did my mock draft for the Bolts, I had Cam Jordan from Cal going at 18.  Many experts had Jordan off the board by then, but he lasted  until #24, when he was gobbled up by the Saints.

Overall, a very solid pick by the Bolts.
